How to create a warped shadow effect in photoshop

Hi, folks. I am gonna show you how to create a warped shadow effect as shown above. This can be done with any image. Here i am taking a rectangle shape to create a warped shadow effect for it.

Now make a duplicate layer of the image(press ctrl+j). Rename it as shadow. Now, fill it with black color and it below the main image as shown.(Note: Shadow layer should be below the Rectangle layer)

Now, select the shadow layer and go to Edit -> Transform path -> warp.

Warp the shadow layer as shown

press Enter. Then go to Layer -> Rasterize -> Layer to rasterize the shadow layer.

Cut the unwanted part of shadow layer by selecting Rectangular Marque Tool in the tool box and select the unwanted layer and press Delete(make sure that you select shadow layer). Selection is as follows:

Now, let us add gaussian blur effect to the shadow layer.

Use radius around 5 pixels and press OK.

Now, make little changes to shadow layer so that it looks realistic. Reduce the width by pressing ctrl+t

Again duplicate the Rectangle layer and warp it as shown(do all the steps mentioned above)

The new layer is renamed as Shadow Up and warped. Again do the tasks upto Gaussian blur as mentioned. Here is the outlook of what we have created.

Add these effects to your photo so that they look more good. Thank you :) Any queries leave a comment.
